Basketball

Lauren M. Carlsen started playing Basketball at the age of 5. She has played all four years of high school but transferred to Marian after her sophomore year, so she has played for Marian for two years. Lauren is part of Young Medicine Club, Pickleball Club, Science Club, Ping Pong Club, Hope Squad and Crusaders Elevating Others (CEO) Leadership group. She has taken AP Psychology, and has lettered all four years for basketball. Lauren was selected by the Nebraska Coaches Association to represent Marian Basketball for the award of Academic and Athletic Excellence. Lauren plans to attend Regis University in Colorado to continue her athletic career while majoring in nursing. Lauren’s parents are Melissa and Greg Carlsen.
Emelia K. Daubendiek started playing Basketball in third grade. She has played all four years at Marian along with Volleyball and Track & Field her freshman year. She has been named All- State Honorable Mention and All-Conference Honorable Mention in Basketball. She has been honored with membership in the National Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (National Math Honor Society) and the National Spanish Honor Society. Emelia is active in the Young Medicine Club, and in Campus Ministry as an EMHC. She plans to attend the South Dakota School of Mines, where she will play basketball while pursuing a degree in biology on the pre-med track. Her parents are Kay and Jim Daubendiek.


Paige Jolie Miller started playing Basketball in 1st grade. She has been
playing Marian Basketball and Soccer for four years. She has been honored with membership in the Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society), National Science Honor Society, and the Nation- al English Honor Society. She is a Marian Ambassador, a member of Ping Pong Club, Young Medicine Club, and the Crusaders Elevating Others Leadership group. She has earned many athletic honors at Marian: 2024 and 2025 Soccer Superstate, 2023 All-Class All-State 2nd team, 2025 Metro Soccer Honorary Captain, 2025 Academic All-State team, and 2023, 2024, and 2025 Basketball All-State Honorable Mention. She will be playing soccer next fall at the Uni- versity of Nebraska – Lincoln and plans to major in biology on the pre-med track. Paige is the daughter of Jenny and Jeff Miller.
Riley Nicole Sommers has been playing Basketball since 2nd grade. Riley participated in Var- sity Basketball all four years and Soccer her freshman year. Riley has been honored with mem- bership in the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society and National Science Honor Society. She is active in Campus Ministry and Pickleball Club while also being a math tutor. Riley is undecided for college right now, but is considering the University of Nebraska – Omaha or the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. She plans to study on the pre-med track with the hopes of going into pediatrics. Riley is the daughter of Noel Sommers and Chris Sommers.


Kamryn Wray has been the Basketball Team Manager for two years.
She has been on the Varsity Soccer team for four years, earning Academic
All-State 2025 honors, Varsity Captain 2025, State Runner Up 2025 and Omaha World Herald Honorable Mention. She has been honored with membership in the National Honor Society, the National Science Honor Society, and the National Spanish Honor Society. Her club involvement includes Hiking Club, Campus Ministry and Big Sisters. Kamryn plans on attending Drake University to play soccer and study Nursing in hopes of becoming a labor and delivery nurse or CRNA. She is the daughter of Lynn and Kenneth Wray.
Cheer Team

Casey Marie Cizek started competitive cheer at age 7 and has been on the Marian Cheer team all four years. Casey is a National Champion, including Summit at ESPN center in Orlando, Florida. She has won the banana two times at UCA camp (ifykyk). At Marian, Casey is involved in Young Medicine Club and was a Marian Ambassador. She is also part of National Honor Society. After graduation Casey plans to attend Mizzou or University of Nebraska Lincoln and try out for cheer squad later this year. She wants to major in nursing and minor in Spanish. She is the daughter of Bobbie and Brent Cizek
Rosie L. Flores has been Cheering since age 8 and has been on the Marian squad for four years. In addition to Cheerleading, Rosie has been involved with the Debate team, Big Sisters, Prom Committee and Broadcasting. Rosie plans to study costume design for film either at California State University – Northridge or DePaul. Rosie’s parents are Alicia Champion and Eric Flores.


Natalie Pham has been Cheering since age 8 and has been on the
Marian squad for four years. She is active in the Young Medicine Club, Big Sister Core Team, and Campus Ministry as a Retreat Leader for sophomore and senior retreat. She has been honored with membership in the National Honor Society, the National Science Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society). Natalie plans to attend Iowa State University with a major in mechanical engineering and a minor in biomedical engineering. Natalie’s parents are Alice and Dat Pham.
Sophia Shillcutt has been Cheering since freshman year and has been on the Marian squad for four years, serving as Varsity Captain this year and a squad captain for the last three years. She has been honored with membership in the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society), Rho Kappa (Social Studies Honor Society), the Na-tional Science Honor Society, and Quill and Scroll, the International Honor Society for high school journalists. She is a member of the Mock Trial team and Honors Academic Decathlon team this year. Sophia is a senior producer for the Marian MBeat Broadcast- ing team. She has also been a participant in the Harvard Model Congress for two years and served as a morning prayer leader for Campus Ministry. Sophia is undecided on a college location, but plans to major in political science on the pre-law track, possibly with a minor in film or media. Her parents are Sasha and Lance Shillcutt.


Amira Thomas started cheering as a freshman and has been on the Marian Cheerlead- ing squad ever since. Amira has participated in Young Medicine Club and Future Busi- ness Leaders of America during her time at Marian. She also participated in Campus Ministry as a Sophomore Retreat Leader and was a Marian Ambassador for three years. Additionally, she has been honored with membership in the National Honor Society, along with the National English Honor Society and Rho Kappa (National Social Stud- ies Honor Society). Amira plans to attend the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and is currently undecided on a major. Her parents are Marta Jeffery and Christopher Thomas.
Quinn Tomlinson has been dancing since she was 3, but has been on the Marian Cheer- leading squad for the last two years. She is a member of the Hope Squad, a Marian Ambassador, and she participates in the Big Sister Program. She has been honored with membership in the National Honor Society, National French Honor Society and Nation- al Science Honor Society. She is also a part of the Humanities Scholar Program. Her plans after graduation are to attend the University of Nebraska – Lincoln or Iowa State. She will double major in psychology and criminology. Quinn’s parents are Rachel and Shane Tomlinson.


Caroline Wilson joined the Cheerleading squad her junior year but has been danc-
ing since she was 4. Caroline was a Marian Ambassador for two years and active in Campus Ministry, Yoga Club, Future Business Leaders of America and Young Medicine Club. She plans to attend the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and is undecided on her major. Caroline’s parents are Amy and Andrew Wilson.
Rowan Mary Wilson has been on the Cheerleading squad since she was a sophomore. She is a 2024 and 2025 All American qualifier and a 2025 UCA Pin-It-Forward recipi- ent. Rowan has been honored with membership in the National Honor Society and Na- tional Science Honor Society. She’s also been involved in Campus Ministry as a Soph-omore Retreat leader, the Be.Marian social media team, Yoga Club, Pickleball Club and Young Medicine Club. Rowan plans to study advertising and public relations at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. Her parents are Bridget Wilson and Bret Wilson.

Dance Team

Piper Ellen Albers has been dancing since age 5. She has been on the Marian Dance Team for four years and a captain for two years. She is involved in Campus Ministry, the Be.Marian social media team, and Big Sisters. She has been honored with member- ship in the National Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, Rho Kappa (Na- tional Social Studies Honor Society). She currently serves as the social media manager for Marian student publications. Piper was recognized in Youth Salute and named a 2026 Distinguished Young Woman of Nebraska finalist. She plans to attend the Univer- sity of Nebraska at Lincoln and major in business and marketing. Piper’s parents are Erin and Steve Albers.
Avery Driml started dancing at age 6 and has been on the Marian Dance Team all four years. She is the current Vice President of Student Board, a Marian Ambassador, a Big Sister Core Team member, and a freshman, sophomore and senior retreat leader in Cam- pus Ministry. She has been honored with membership in the National Honor Society and serves as a Hope Squad member. She has participated in Operation Others, Young Medicine Club, Paw Project and been active as a member of the Duchesne Lacrosse Team. After graduation Avery plans on attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She is undecided on a major but wants to do something in the medical field. Her parents are Janet and Nate Drim


Gabrielle Alexis Fahey has been dancing since age 3 and has been on Marian’s Dance Team all four years, currently serving as a captain. She has been part of many activities during her time at Marian, including a freshman and sophomore retreat leader, and FIAT Core Team leader for Campus Ministry, Marian Ambassadors, Be.Marian social media team president, Young Medicine Club, Peer2Peer Leaders and the FIAT Core Team. She has been honored with membership in the National Honor Society, Rho Kappa (Nation- al Social Studies Honor Society). Gabby is planning to study biology on the pre-med track. Her top schools are University of Tennessee, Texas Christian University and the University of Kansas. She is the daughter of Amber and Brian Fahey.
Samantha D. Hansen started dancing in first grade. She has been on Marian’s Dance Team all four years. She is involved in Campus Ministry as a Freshman Retreat Lead- er, Sophomore Retreat Leader and Morning Prayer Leader. She has been honored with membership in the National English Honor Society, Rho Kappa (Social Studies Honor Society) and Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society). She is also active in Culinary Club and Young Medicine Club. Sami plans on attending either Grand Canyon University or the University of Arizona. She will study biology with an emphasis in pre-health. She wants to try out for the GCU dance team this Spring and if she goes to the University of Arizona, she wants to rush in the fall. Her parents are Amy and Kevin Hansen.

Bowling

Zella Dowling is in her first year with the Marian Bowling program. She is a former Basketball and Soccer player. At Marian, she was selected and served on the Dominican Republic trip mission trip, and has been honored with membership in the National Honor Society, earned a Global Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish, been active in Operation Others and Peer 2 Peer, and worked backstage for the musical Cinderella. Zella is still deciding on a college choice. Her top three options are the University of Iowa, Creighton University and the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. She wants to major in nutrition and health sciences with a minor in Spanish, on the pre-dental track. Zella’s parents are Sara and Travis Dowling.
Wresteling
DAKOTA GRACE GIWOYNA has been wrestling since ninth grade and qualified for State Wrestling her junior year. She is involved in the Crusaders Elevating Others (CEO) Lead- ership group and Fandom Club. Dakota is committed to wrestle at Iowa Western and study criminal justice and physics. Dakota’s parents are Lisa Giwonyna and Troy Giwoyna.


CADY PORTER has been wrestling since she was a sophomore. This is her third season on the Marian team. She is currently the team captain and holds the school’s bench press record. She was recognized with the Academic All State Award last season. Cady also participates in Track & Field and Cross Country. She has been honored with membership in the National Honor Society and been on the Honor Roll while serving as a tutor for underclasswomen. Cady plans to attend the University of Nebraska- Lincoln and double major in finance and accounting. Cady’s parents are Lisa and Joe Porter.
KEELY ROBBINS started wrestling in eighth grade and has been on the Marian team for four years. Keely has been the team captain for three seasons. She holds two Marian wres- tling records and has been named All Metro Honorable Mention, All Metro 2nd Team and Class A All State Honorable Mention in Softball. She is committed to play softball at Iowa Western and plans to study psychology with a minor in social work. Keely’s parents are Cara and David Robbins.


MACY SALZBRENNER has been wrestling since eighth grade has been on the Marian team since she transferred in as a sophomore. Macy has been honored with membership in the National Honor Society and is a member of Hope Squad. She was also awarded Aca- demic All State last year for wrestling. Macy is undecided on where she will attend college, but her top two options are the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and Oklahoma State University. She plans to major in occupational therapy and minor in disability studies. Macy’s parents are Jen and Steve Salzbrenner.
Swim
Sofia G. Bostrom has been swimming since kindergarten and has been on Marian’s Swimming/Diving team for three years. She is a two-time Scholastic Gold Key Award winner and her artwork “Horse” was published nationally in the DePaul BlueBook. She has been a part of the art and language program at Marian for four years. For college, she is choosing between Creighton University to study marketing or The University of EAFIT in Colombia, South America to study Product Design Engineering. At some point, she hopes to be working for the McLaren or RedBull Formula 1 Team. Sofia’s parents are Franceline Bostrom and Emerson Bostrom.


Bridget Jessen Finnegan has been swimming since age 5 and has been on the Mar- ian Swimming/Diving team for four years. Outside of swimming, Bridget has been involved all four years of choir, Momentum Show Choir, the fall musical and Ambas- sadors. As a senior, she is the Momentum dance captain and a Model United Nations participant. Bridget was also Peer2Peer leader and active in Campus Ministry as a morning prayer leader, freshman retreat leader and senior retreat leader. Bridget is plan- ning to study business at the University of Kansas. She is the daughter of Kjirsten and Joe Finnegan.
Charlotte R. Holcomb has been swimming since she was in first grade and has been on the Marian Swimming/Diving team for all four years. Her sports honors include being named All American in relays, and being a two time State Champion with the Crusader Swimming/Diving team. She is extremely grateful to attend Marian and have the plea- sure of participating on such an amazing team. Charlotte has been honored with membership in the National Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, Rho Kappa (Social Studies) Honor Society, and awarded the Core Value Compassion award and an Optimist Student of the Month Award. She is active in the Science Club, Olympic Weightlifting, TARS program, AV tech head, FIAT, EMHC, and is a Blood Ambassador for the Red Cross. She would like to study nursing with a minor in military science, but is undecided on the college. Charlotte is the daughter of Anna and Charles Holcomb


Lucy E. Johansen has been swimming since age 6. She has been a member of the Mar- ian Swimming/Diving team for four years. Her swim honors include being a member of the two State Champion teams and being a State Gold Medalist in the 400 free relay and a two time State Gold medalist in the 200 free relay. She has been active at Marian in Operation Others and in the Students for Life Club. Lucy plans to swim at South Dakota State University and major in Health Science and Spanish. Lucy’s parents are Akemi and Frank Johansen.
Lillian McCandless has been swimming since she was 4. Lilly has been a member of the Swimming/Diving team for four years. Outside of the Marian team she has also participated in club swimming for Greater Omaha Aquatics since she was 8. At Marian she has been involved in Big Sisters, FIAT action team, retreat leader, Ping Pong Club, Pickleball Club, Operation Others, the handbells group, and Marian Ambassadors. She is also a certified lifeguard and swim instructor and she is also a swim coach. After graduation, Lilly will be attending the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and majoring in marketing. Her parents are Sara McCandless and Scott McCandless.


Meredith Peyton has been swimming since age 8 and has been on the Marian Swimming/Diving team for four years. She has been honored with membership in the National Honor Society and is also part of Ambassadors at Marian. Meredith was part of Campus Ministry for three years as an EMHC and helped with Big Sisters. She has the state record in the 100 butterfly and was part of two state championship winning teams. Meredith plans on attending the University of Nebraska Lincoln to continue swimming. She hopes to major in business marketing. She is the daughter of Amy and Kurt Peyton.
Alena Kehm is spending her first season with the Swimming/Diving team as a Team Manager. Alena has been a 4-year member of the volleyball and track and field teams. She is a class officer, secretary of National Honor Society, a member of Campus Ministry, and co-managing editor of Marian’s student newspaper, The Network. Alena has also been honored with membership in Quill and Scroll International Honor Society for High School Journalists, National English Honor Society, and National Science Honor Society. Alena is undecided on where she will attend college, but plans to study journalism and political science. Alena’s parents are Paula and Joseph Kehm.
