After a monumental run at the 2026 Grammys, Bad Bunny headlined on the biggest stage in America: Super Bowl LX. Bad Bunny has had a historical week.

He was nominated for six Grammys and took home three. He won Album of the Year for his album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, making history as it was the first album only in Spanish to win the award.

He also won Best Música Urbana Album and Best Global Music Performance. Bad Bunny is incredibly deserving of these awards and the opportunity to perform at the half time show.

The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show consisted of energetic singing and dancing from Bad Bunny, his guests and all of the backup dancers.

He opened the show with the upbeat and widely known song “Tití Me Preguntó” (Auntie Asked Me.) This was an amazing choice to open this performance with because of how popular it is and its fun rhythm that set the tone for the rest of the performance. The song was followed by “Yo Perreo Sola” (I Dance Alone) and “Party.” In the beginning and into the middle of the performance, the excitement only grew.

Bad Bunny shared a message about his journey to headlining Super Bowl LX. He encouraged people to never give up because his perseverance is what has led to this amazing opportunity and success for him.

Everything to this point led to what so many people have been talking about: the wedding in the middle of the show. It was so fun for that couple and incredibly surprising for the audience. Their first kiss led into a salsa-inspired performance of “Die with a Smile” sung by Lady Gaga, a song she shares with Bruno Mars.

Later in the show, Ricky Martin also joined the stage singing a small part of “LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii” (What Happened to Hawaii.) He sang the song, sharing its powerful message to millions watching. The guests could have been more supportive to the show considering the fact that Ricky Martin sang a very short part and that Lady Gaga and Bad Bunny do not have a song together.

Bad Bunny had many better options to bring out during the show. For example, Drake could have come out to sing their song “MIA” together or Cardi B, who was in the casita during the show, could have come out for them to sing “I Like It.”

The guests did not add very much to the show, but they also did not take away from it. For a short, 13-minute performance, that is extremeley important.

The stunning energy continued when a clip of Daddy Yankee’s song “Gasolina” led into the exciting song “EoO.” This was an amazing matchup of songs to continue the good mood of the show.

Followed by “EoO,” the famous songs “BAILE INoLVIDABLE” (Unforgettable Dance) and “NUEVAYoL” (New York) were performed. Bad Bunny’s trust fall was so impressive, fun and energetic. This was the most enjoyable part of the show with all of the dancing and symbolism throughout the performance.

After this, “El Apagón” (The Blackout)and “CAFé CON RON” (Coffee With Rum) began to close out the show. He began this segment of the show with the Puerto Rican flag and uplifting words about his homeland. This was a major theme throughout the show, as he was spreading the necessary awareness about ongoing blackouts in Puerto Rico.

Towards the end, the flags of every country in North and South America were represented by people from each nation, and the stadium’s jumbotron read: “The Only Thing More Powerful Than Hate Is Love.” This message is increasingly important in the world today and it was reassuring to see it displayed on such a big stage to spread awareness to the threat of increasing disunity — not just in the U.S., but around the world.

Bad Bunny closed out the biggest night of his career with “DtMF” as he spiked a football that read “Together, We Are America.” As a person who knows little Spanish, Bad Bunny and his music did an amazing job to keep us non-Spanish speakers entertained throughout the entirety of the show.

The message and symbolism to be loving and supportive of others throughout the show was beautiful to see after all of the controversy concerning his performance before it even took place.

One response to “Bad Bunny, great show”
