Marian’s dance team is expanding its horizons in more than one way. “After visiting with the Administration, current captains and spirit girls, we decided to take on the challenge and go to the State Cheer and Dance Competition in February,” Mrs. Michelle Delisi said.
At the beginning of each season, Delisi has proposed the idea of going to State, but the team has not attended for quite a few years. The option to go to State requires give and take.
“I visit with the captains about attending State and what it will require to get ready. Many times it means the team will not be able to perform at football games and the extra basketball performances we do at Creighton Prep and Mount Michael,” Delisi said.

Seniors Ally Kmiecik and Taylor Nihsen have taken on leadership roles as captains of the team, and they are more than ready to accept the challenge.
Though extra work is required to get ready for the competition, Delists is confident that her team can pull it off. Marian’s Dance Team will compete in the Pom category at the State competition in February.
“We really just want to show everyone our ability at the competition,” junior Cora Ridenour said.
The Dance Team is not shying away from their competition. The new year is fueling competitive spirits. This squad feels prepared to take on the challenge.
