Despite every teenage girl’s obsession with the season of Fall, I think that it is the worst season of the four. I don’t know if it’s the pumpkin spice lattes or daylight savings that I dislike the most, but something about Fall just rubs me the wrong way
Fall begins and so does the next school year. After a long, warm, freedom-filled summer, fall marks the beginning of a torrential downfall in my mood. School begins, you don’t have as much time to do what you enjoy doing. Homework starts to pile up, tests start coming and you’re stuck in an endless cycle of waking up, going to school, doing your homework, and going back to sleep.
Another reason why Autumn is the worst part of the year, is because of daylight savings. On November 6, 2022 we set our clocks back for our annual “ daylight savings”. Most people are excited to get an extra hour of sleep but is that worth the terrible living conditions for the next three months? From then until March, when we set the clocks back, we will not be seeing much of the sun, as it rises at around 7:30 a.m. and sets at around 5 p.m. It is scientifically proven that the sun, and its dose of Vitamin D, makes people happier. In the Fall, the days are significantly shorter than they are in summertime. This leaves us with less time to get outside and see the sun.
Fall is underwhelmingly less exciting than my peers make it out to be. Yes, the pretty colors are nice, but the colder and darker days overrule that. We should all look forward to the summer months when we can be warm, the days are longer, and we have sunshine every day.
