Marian competes at the UNO competition in the small school (or Class B) category based on sheer numbers.  At the NSAA-level, Marian “opts up” and competes with the Class A schools. When a publication wins a “program of the year” or a “best newspaper” contest, it isn’t just one person – this is one big group project – completing a newspaper, yearbook, literary magazine or a broadcast – so ALL students in the program can claim these titles, under the leadership of their peers.
