Marian’s annual MarianFEST brought together more than 600 guests on Feb. 7, for a night of celebration, connection and support for the school’s mission. The event, themed “For the Love of Marian,” raised funds for tuition assistance, campus improvements and academic programs. Held at Waterloo’s A View at West Shores, it featured cocktails, heavy appetizers, and both silent and live auctions.

“This event is so much more than a fundraiser—it’s a celebration of the Marian spirit,” Principal Dr. Susie Sullivan said, reflecting on the school’s rich history and strong community. “I like to say there’s a little bit of magic here with the all-girl environment, the faculty, our traditions—all those things the Servants of Mary provided for me as a foundation. We’re fortunate to have dedicated faculty who know how to teach teenage girls.
“I love the energy here,” freshman Avril Duran said. “I’ve made so many good friendships. It’s a place where you truly feel at home.” Duran was the featured scholarship speaker at the event.
The heart of the night was a video presentation featuring stories from students and alumnae. Each voice shared a unique perspective on what makes Marian special.
“Come as you are, and you are accepted as you are,” said Mary Pelan, Class of 2023, emphasizing Marian’s inclusive and welcoming environment.
Amanda Pritchard, a Spanish teacher at Marian, spoke about her confidence in the school’s future. “I know these Marian girls are going to change the world,” she said. “They’re passionate, driven and compassionate. The education they receive here will shape them into leaders.”
The funds raised at MarianFEST will go directly toward supporting students and ensuring they have access to an education rooted in Catholic values and the Servite traditions. According to Marian President Mrs. Michele Ernst, the event is about more than financial support—it’s about coming together as a community. The dozens of volunteers who helped make the event a success would agree.
“We are all committed to doing what’s best for our students,” she said.
MarianFEST 2025 highlighted the strength of the Marian community and reinforced its mission to provide a faith-filled education. With the Servants of Mary at the foundation of the school, the evening reflected the core Catholic value of solidarity—working together to support and empower the next generation of leaders.
