Sunday night. Millions of cookie-loving fans flock to the Crumbl website to see the six new flavors. Influencers immediately buy the new lineup and try it out for their fans, encouraging them to buy it themselves. Soon thousands of pink boxes full of cookies are bought all over the states.

This cycle never fails to happen each week since Crumbl became so popular in 2020 on Tiktok. It is easy for creators to connect to fans because the decorations and recipes are the exact same in every location. Social media has created a Crumbl bandwagon because each week so many popular influencers try it.

Social media isn’t the only reason for Crumbl’s success. “Crumbl is so popular because of the rotating flavors,” said sophomore Aubrey Decher, a Crumbl employee. She has been working there for a few months- serving people excited to join the cookie craze each week. Decher has a special app that can tell her things like the most popular cookie- churro cupcake. She doesn’t get the cookies because of her celiac, but she loves spreading joy through serving the sweet treat.

Crumbl is accessible locally with four locations in the Omaha metropolitan area. The locations include one in Papillion, two in Elkhorn, and one in Bellevue. The most popular box is a four- count of cookies, which costs $19.99.

Sophomore Elli Jones is one of the many Marian girls who loves Crumbl. “I have the Crumbl menu on my lock screen so I can check it every week,” she said. Once she clicks it, Jones is taken straight to the Crumbl app where she can order all her favorite cookies, including brownie batter and confetti milkshake. But Jones doesn’t keep all the cookies for herself. She shares with her friends so they can try the new lineup together.

But not everyone takes part in the Crumbl cookie craze. “They just aren’t worth it for the price, and there are better desserts out there,” sophomore Tala Alkaleel said. She prefers homemade brownies because they are delicious and free.

Whether you’ve had Crumbl once or try it every week, everyone can agree it has become a staple in the sweets industry. It has been a hot topic for a couple years, and the infamous pink box doesn’t seem to be going anywhere soon.
