Review by J1 Reporter Andrea Nyamedi

This one’s for the thrill seekers. Holly Jackson’s thriller and mystery novel, “The Reappearance of Rachel Price”, narrates the life of Bel whose mother had disappeared twice. Sixteen years later, the presumed dead Rachel returns during the production of her own documentary. Everyone is happy except for Bel, who notices flaws in Rachel’s story and digs into the past to discover the truth.
It was published in April of 2024 with 438 pages in total. Although it’s not in Marian’s library, it absolutely should be.
For readers who enjoy dumbfounding plot twists, this book is for you. The story building and misdirection in this novel left me with so many blank-stare-at-the-wall moments. Though that’s only when the actual thrill came— a good portion of it was slow burn. Frustratingly so at times. Still, the buildup was worth it for a read that blows your mind and then pieces it back together.
