Tennis is a competitive sport that isn’t discussed frequently at Marian. Players need mental, physical, and emotional skills to be strong players.
Marian’s JV team possesses these skills, making it one of the best teams in Omaha. JV tennis has won both of its matches this season (one against Bellevue West and the other against Papillion
LaVista).

These wins show the team is working hard this season, but what really makes this team unique is its community. The relationships on this team go beyond just teammates.
Junior Kaitlyn Baysa joined JV this year but has quickly found new friends. “Trying out for tennis is one of the best decisions I have made at
Marian. I was nervous to try out since I have only played tennis for fun. The team is very welcoming and even though we have only been together for a month, we have an evident bond,” Baysa said.
This tight knit group gained five new players this year: three freshmen and two juniors.
Two freshman, Morgan Mayer and Montana Harrington, have become friends this season. “My favorite part of being on the tennis team is meeting new people and going to team dinners,” Mayer said.
