Basketball is a sport that has been cherished for years past and many years to come. The basketball season is right around the corner and the team is already putting in hard work to make it a great season. “We have workouts 4 days a week. Mondays and Wednesdays we go before school and play, do skill work and shoot. Then on Tuesdays and Thursdays we do conditioning, lift and run after school,” head coach Mr. Peter Cunningham says.
Mr. Cunningham is looking forward to this season and seeing what the team achieves. “I am most excited that we have many returning players from last year, and that we get to see how much potential this team has. This could be the year we get back to state since 2010.” Cunningham says. Cunningham is not the only excited one, “I’m excited to be a leader this year on the team, and we have the majority of the same people so we will be a stronger team,” Olivia Rudloff ‘19 says.
The basketball team has a positive mindset going into the winter season. Tryouts start Nov. 12, and anyone who wants to play is welcome. Basketball is truly a timeless Marian sport.
