Class of 2019 Firefighters triumph at Field Day

Seniors Set the Floor on Fire •

In vibrant red and yellow, the seniors took first place at Field Day on April 12. With anticipation, they waited in their cardboard fire trucks for President Mary Higgins to announce this year’s Field Day winner. The seniors were overjoyed when the news of their victory was announced. Feeling triumphant, the seniors dogpiled in the center of Baxter Arena, the same place where they came together as a class and performed their demo. They began in their freshman year in 2016 at Sokol Arena at Creighton with the theme Freshmen Fastball, to Sophomore Scuba of 2017 at Baxter, then to Junior 500 of 2018 and finally ending their Field Day career as Senior Station 19. As their senior year comes to a close, this Field Day will be cherished by the Class of 2019.

At Marian Field Day, each class chooses a theme and performs a skit, cheerleading routine, and demonstration (a combination of songs and dances) and competes against the other grades for ultimate pride and glory. It is the most important tradition at Marian.
