Little Women Do Big Things

Review by J1 Reporter Grace Virgillito

While on winter break I gathered some friends, went to Aksarben, and watched Little Women in theaters. It is a historical period drama, is rated PG, and came out on Christmas day. I had seen commercials and was previously interested in watching the movie. The movie starred many famous actors like Timothée Chalamet (Laurie), Saoirse Ronan (Jo March), Emma Watson (Meg March), Florence Pugh (Amy March), Eliza Scanlen (Beth March), Laura Dern (Mary March), and Meryl Streep (Aunt March). Personally, I was interested in these actors works before, so getting to see another film starring them was exciting.

The main plot of the movie is centered around four sisters and their lives. Each sister was unique in their own way, and I felt that the actresses who portrayed them were perfect for their roles. This may be spoiling a major event in the movie, but the ending was not my favorite.

I loved how the movie took place in a different era than we live in now because it showed what it was like to live in the 1800s. It was a bit confusing because the scenes would go from the seven years prior and then back to the present throughout the whole movie. Overall, I loved the movie and would definitely recommend to others!
