Golf:
Brielle Abboud
Brielle Josepine Abboud is a four-year Golfer at Marian. She is actively involved in Campus Ministry and many clubs. She has been honored with membership in the National Honor Society and in Mu Alpha Theta (the Math Honor Society), the National Science Honor Society and the National Spanish Honor Society. She has been a volunteer and a member of CEO (Crusaders Elevating Others). Brielle plans to go to college and hopefully to medical school. Her parents are Josephine and Jason Abboud.
Alexa Bruning
Alexa Bruning is a four-year Golfer at Marian. She is involved with volunteering. She has been active in FBLA. Her college plan is to attend the Arizona State University and obtain an engineering degree. Her parents are Michael and Rachelle Bruning.
Cross Country:
Mary Ambrose
Mary Delany Ambrose is a four-year Cross Country runner. She has achieved 300-mile club status and is active in Campus Ministry, Lolo’s Angels, Big Sisters and the track program. She also competed in soccer as a sophomore. She has been honored with membership in National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society), National English Honor Society, National Science Honor Society and Quill and Scroll, the International Honor Society for High School Journalists. Mary is a copy editor for the Network student newspaper. She thinks she will attend Creighton or St. Louis University. Mary’s parents are Jean Ambrose and Jim Ambrose.
Audrey Ehlers
Audrey Ehlers is a two-year Cross Country runner. She has also participated in Dance Team and the Track team. In the community, she has been an active volunteer and has been a lifeguard and a soccer referee. She has been elected as a Student Board member and has been a leader in Campus Ministry. She is an honored member of National Honor Society and Quill and Scroll, the International Honor Society for High School Journalists. Audrey is a copy editor for the Crusader Yearbook. Her college plans are undecided at this time. Audrey’s parents are Bernie and Beth Ehlers.
Lizzie Evans
Lizzie Evans is a first-year Cross Country runner. She has also played volleyball and been an active volunteer. She has been honored with membership in the National Honor Society and is a senior editor of Burn literary magazine. She is not sure where she will be going to college, but she plans to study engineering. Lizzie’s parents are Wendy Evans and Dave Evans.
Bria Hamilton
Bria Hamilton is a four-year Cross Country runner. She also runs track and has helped manage the soccer team. She is active in Big Sisters, Math Club, Servite Connections, Lolo’s Angels, Operation Others, Recruitment Team and has been honored by National Honor Society. She has also been a Vacation Bible School volunteer. Bria is thinking of going to Kansas University and majoring in engineering. She is the daughter of Steph Hamilton and Mike Hamilton.
Christina Kleinsmith
Christina Kleinsmith is a four-year participant in Cross Country. She has also played soccer for two years and was a captain sophomore year. Last year she played lacrosse at Duchesne, too. She has been active as a tutor and has been honored with membership in the National English Honor Society, the National Science Honor Society and National Honor Society. She is involved in volunteering, Campus Ministry and Decade Darlings. She is also a certified lifeguard and swim instructor. She plans to study nursing/healthcare at a school close(ish) to Omaha next fall. Christina’s parents are Theresa and Ralph Kleinsmith.
Matilda Lang
Matilda Lang is a four-year Cross Country runner for Marian. She has qualified for the 300 mile club three times! She is a leader in Campus Ministry as a retreat leader and in Lolo’s Angels. She has participated in Operation Others and was a soccer team manager. She is a section editor for the Crusader Yearbook. Matilda’s college and career plans are undecided, yet she is looking at Jesuit/ Catholic universities within the Midwest region. Her parents are Janice and Jeff Lang.
Ella Plank
Ella Plank is a three-year Cross Country team member. She is involved in Journalism as a network Newspaper page editor and active in Campus Ministry, Lolo’s Angels and the National Honor Society. She was also honored with members in Quill and Scroll, the International Honor Society for High School Journalists. She ran track her freshman and sophomore years and was named to the 600 mile club for Cross Country. Ella is interested in attending Creighton, Saint Louis, or Saint Thomas, but is unsure of what to study within healthcare management. Her parents are Laura and John Plank.
Maggie Stessman
Maggie Stessman is in her first year of Cross Country. In addition to running, she has also played volleyball, basketball and track. She is actively involved with Operation Others, Campus Ministry and with the Recruitment Team. She has been honored with membership in National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Science Honor Society and Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society. Maggie is an elected class officer of the senior class. She is currently undecided with a choice of colleges. Her parents are Jane and Joe Stessman.
Claire Troshynski
Claire Troshynski is a three-year participant of Cross County. She also participates in Swimming/Diving and Track. She lettered her sophomore and junior year in Cross Country. She has been a lifeguard and a swim team coach and has earned a CNA license through Nebraska Methodist College. Claire is a member of the National Honor Society and will be studying nursing, most likely at TCU, and possibly going through the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) for the United States Air Force. She won the Nebraska State Championship Triathlon and placed 3rd in the Toyota Age Group National Championships and has been awarded the Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association (NCPA) Academic All-State award. Claire is the daughter of Theresa and Troy Troshynski.
Madison J. Werth
Madison J. Werth is a four-year Cross Country team participant. She is a three-sport/activity participant, too, having been involved in choir, cross country and track. She has been active with Operation Others and with Club soccer. Madison hopes to earn an animal science degree at Kansas State University and then work in veterinary medicine. Her parents are Katie Werth and Jeff Werth.
Volleyball:
Amanda Draper
Amanda Draper is a three-year Marian volleyball player. She is active in the Big Sister Program, CEO (Crusaders Elevating Others), and the Recruitment Team. She has played club ball and has coached and refereed NVL volleyball at Nebraska Elite Volleyball. After graduating from Marian, she plans to attend Kansas University and major in business. Amanda’s parents are Scott Draper and Kelli Draper.
Amanda Loschen
Amanda Loschen is a four-year Marian Volleyball player. She is active in Campus Ministry, Recruitment Team, CEO (Crusaders Elevating Others), Young Medicine Club, and the National Honor Society. She has earned All-State honors and All-Academic Honors for volleyball. She plays club ball and has coached and refereed little league volleyball. After graduating from Marian, she will attend the University of South Dakota to play volleyball and continue her athletic career. She plans to study medical biology/the pre-med track. Amanda’s parents are David and Lori Loschen.
Amelia K. Roth
Amelia K. Roth has played Marian Volleyball all four years. She is an elected leader of her peers as a Student Board officer for all four years, too. She is active in Campus Ministry and in Journalism as the photo editor of the yearbook. She has been honored with membership selection in the National Honor Society and has been involved in CEO (Crusaders Elevating Others). She has played club ball and has coached and refereed younger players. This fall, Amelia received the NSAA Believers and Achievers award. She also serves the school community as the Crusader mascot. Her college plans are undecided, but she thinks she will study business and advertising. Amelia’s parents are Molly and Chris Roth.
Ashley Wilwerding
Ashley Wilwerding has been involved in Marian Volleyball all four years. She has also participated in Varsity Basketball and is a three-year letter winner. She has played club volleyball and basketball and coached a Special Olympics team for Madonna School. In the academic world, Ashley is a member of National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National Science Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. In the club corner, she has been active in CEO (Crusaders Elevating Others), Campus MInistry, Recruitment team and Young Medicine Club. Her talents have been recognized by the Lincoln Journal Star’s All-Academic List and the Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association (NCPA) Academic All-State. Ashley intends to attend college at a yet-to-be-determined university studying in the field of pre-med. She is the daughter of Don and Angie Wilwerding.
Softball:
Maddia Groff
Maddia Groff is a four-year softball player who has been nominated for Super State, All State Softball and was named the Metro Conference Pitcher of the Year. Maddia is also active in Journalism and serves as the Yearbook co-editor. She is a member of the National English Honor Society and Quill and Scroll, the International Honor Society for High School Journalists. Maddia is committed to compete at Southern Illinois University next fall, but is undecided about her course of study. She is the daughter of Melissa and Aaron Groff.
Rylinn Groff
Rylinn Groff is a four-year softball player who has been nominated for All State Softball and First Team All Conference Softball. She is a member of the National English Honor Society Rylinn is committed to compete at Southern Illinois University next fall, but is uncertain about her course of study. She is the daughter of Melissa and Aaron Groff.
Emma Humpal
Emma Humpal has played softball for all four years of high school. She was named the WOWT Athlete of the Week, a Lincoln Journal Star All-State Honorable Mention, an Omaha World Herald All-State Honorable Mention. Emma is active in her parish, in Campus Ministry and the Recruitment Team. She plans to study exercise science at Southwest Minnesota State University while also playing softball next fall. Emma’s parents are Michele and Dave Humpal.
Payton Rae Kincaid
Payton Rae Kincaid is a four-year softball player. She has participated in Polar Plunge, Recruitment team and the Young Medicine Club. Outside of school she is a CPR trained lifeguard. Her career goal is to become a doctor. Payton’s parents are Dawn and Joel Kincaid.
