Junior Reagan Dreibelbis has just begun her second year playing on Marian’s Varsity Softball team, but is already a leader on and off the field. Softball is no new talent for Dreibelbis, as she has been playing since she was five. Dreibelbis sports the number 18 and plays a multitude of positions, including shortstop, catcher, third base, and first base. Dreibelbis has prepared for Marian softball season all summer by pushing through the blistering heat and playing for her club team.

Dreibelbis has led the Marian Crusaders to an 11-1 record and a current ranking of second in the state. “Good team culture and support really helps the team succeed,” she said. The Crusaders have a team goal to play well and make it to state, then continue their winning streak and win state.
The new Marian softball facility is a must-see for students. Newly finished this summer, the facility hosts home games, serves food and drinks and seats lots of people in the stands. Watching the Crusaders, one of the top teams in the state, play is definitely a great way to end the day. Plus, the girls love the support. Dreibelbis said, “The team loves having Marian girls in the stands, cheering us on.”
Marian softball is known for their team spirit, and they are constantly cheering for each other, creating a fun, exciting environment. As the Crusaders continue their winning season, the team and Dreibelbis ask the Marian student body to come support their home games, especially Districts on Oct. 5 and 6.
