“Coraline” (2009) is an animated film geared towards kids and young teens.  It is a great movie for families. This movie is found on HBO Max (with a subscription), or Prime Video (subscription or rent/buy starting at $2.99). Coraline finds a door hidden in her room; when she goes inside she finds a whole different world. This world is what she wishes her home life was like but it also has its issues.

“A Nightmare on Elm Street” (1984) is a horror movie found on HBO Max (with a subscription) or Prime Video (rent or buy starting at $3.99). The main character, Nancy Thompson, played by Heather Langenkamp, and her friends have to live through their nightmares of a man with a bladed glove. If they cannot live through the nightmare, they are dead in the real world as well. Outside of these kids, nobody seems to believe what is going on in their dreams. The film is based out of Springwood County, Ohio on Elm Street. This film is rated R due to some of the content containing blood and other disturbing images.
