Review by J1 Reporter Addy Wagner

I recently visited the IHOP at 12423 W Center Rd in Westwood Plaza, and overall, it was a pretty good experience. The menu items all looked and sounded amazing, and there were a variety of options. As for the actual food, it was tasty and arrived quickly. My pancakes were fluffy, and the hash browns had just the right crispness. Classic IHOP quality!

The service was friendly and respectful, but I noticed the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed during the morning rush. They managed to handle it well, though, and my server was still polite and checked in a few times. The coffee could’ve been a little fresher, but that didn’t ruin my experience at all.

As for the atmosphere, it’s your standard IHOP—a little dated in décor but clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but it does the job if you’re there for a casual breakfast or brunch. Parking was convenient since it’s in Westwood Plaza, so that was a plus.

Prices are reasonable. My pancakes and hashbrowns were part of the “World-Famous Pancake Combo” which also included two eggs (prepared however I desired), two customed-cured hickory smoked bacon strips or two pork sausage links for the bargain price of $13.99. A full stack (five) of original buttermilk pancakes was $10.49 and a short stack (three) was $8.29.

Overall, I’d give it four stars! It’s not a place that will blow your mind, but if you’re looking for a solid breakfast with reliable service, this IHOP is worth the stop.
