The constant bickering between which coffee place is better and trendier. Some would call this a difficult decision. Others might call it a clash of the coffee chains.

Dunkin’s menu offers lattes, coffee, teas, matchas, refreshers and their signature “coolada’s” both iced and hot to enjoy with foods like bacon egg and cheese and croissant sandwiches, hash browns, muffin, and their brand-known dessert, donuts.
“By offering donuts, it is great for special occasions,” sophomore Bridget Cote said.
Cote said the donuts are a delicious treat and a unique aspect to this coffee chain, which according to News.DunkinDonuts.com, has been serving both coffee and donuts since 1948.
Cote also said that for the tasty foods and refreshing drinks she is getting at Dunkin, it is worth her money. Cote spends around $10-15 when she makes a trip to Dunkin.
Scooters’ menu offers iced drinks, hot drinks, blenders, smoothies, teas, kids items, muffins, cake bites, breakfast burritos and sandwiches.
Sophomore Ashley Bialas likes Scooter’s better because they have her favorite: a mango smoothie with whipped cream. Bialas says she goes to Scooters about once a week and with the quality and tastiness of her drink, she thinks it is worth the $5-$6 she pays for it. “I believe it’s worth it because it makes me happy and starts my day off right,” Bialas said.
Bialas is not much of a coffee connoisseur, so she likes how Scooter’s offers a variety of drinks for her like smoothies, refreshers, blenders, matchas, infusions and lemonade.
Marketing is the one word that entails a brand’s strategy and attraction of their company. Why do these Marian girls think the coffee shop they like has the better marketing strategy?
Sophomore Maddie Waters is on the Dunkin’ side and believes they have the better strategy.
“I think they have a better marketing strategy because they are a national chain, therefore, meaning they can afford to have bigger advertisements like being on billboards or tv commercials, whereas I’ve never seen a Scooter’s tv commercial,” Waters said.
Dunkin’ features commercials with pop stars like Sabrina Carpenter doing an ad about the new shaken espresso after her hit song “Espresso” gained fast popularity. They also feature an ad with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in a Super Bowl commercial.
Cote also believes this as well “because they were on America’s Got Talent.” For the fourteenth season of the show “America’s Got Talent,” Dunkin’ partnered with their team and had all the judges use Dunkin’ cups to promote their brand.
“I think Scooter’s has a better one because Scooter’s did a partnership with Candyland, they have more billboards, and they network better,” Bialas said. Not only does Bialas think they are able to network and market better, she also said they can utilize this really well to appeal to several age groups.
The closest proximity to these coffee chains from Marian are: Dunkin Donuts is 3 minutes away and the closest Scooter’s is 5 minutes away.
Both places have a variety of items on their menu and use their own unique and creative ideas to promote their brand. Although I do enjoy a donut at Dunkin, I like Scooter’s coffee, drinks and food more. So, which one do you prefer: Dunkin’ or Scooters?
