Truth Be Told by Macy

The concept of an “everything shower”. The term is a well known internet trend, originating especially from TikTok.

An everything shower includes a full-body wash and exfoliate along with an intensive hair care routine. This is usually something people do on a Sunday night to start off their week feeling refreshed and cleansed.

However, an everything shower is not for everyone. Some people see it as over consumption or a waste of time. I do think that everything showers are a good way to have a relaxing night while feeling clean.

This trend has turned a regular shower into a spa day. However, Gen Z is especially hooked. While the everything shower is seen as a praise for self care, it also has some drawbacks. Has the everyday refresh turned into a performance?

It is known that everyone needs and deserves time to relax and feel comfortable in their own skin. Taking care of your body can be empowering and rewarding.

However, when self care is turned to the Internet it can become misguided. Many influencers make it the norm to have a 10-step routine or only use expensive products.

This is something that makes something as simple as a shower become more complicated and confusing. Not everyone has the time or money to put into practices like the “everything shower”.

Still, this trend has many appeals. It is soothing. It can be a break from all of the stress and anxiety from the week. Most importantly it can serve as a reset that makes people feel relaxed and rejuvenated.

So go ahead and try it for yourself. Take yourself on a shopping spree and purchase some products that provide you with the best experience possible.
