SHEIN, a fast fashion website, is one of the largest producers of health violations and horrible clothing. Because many are so fond of the cheap prices, this platform will not be ending anytime soon. 

Fast fashion has been a part of societal norms for years because of its rapid production of cheap, trendy clothing designed to provide the latest fashion movements and be quickly available to consumers. It is a part of the number one problem in America because of the terrible conditions many workers are put through to create affordable and quickly shipped clothing. This poses significant risks for the workers who produce it. 

SHEIN seems to be a horrible platform to shop at because of rumors of cruelty towards workers and the “supposedly” good clothing that is less than good. SHEIN is only liked because of its good prices, which is true since a t-shirt costs $10 with shipping, while at Super Target it would cost $30-40. 

 I shopped at SHEIN for quite some time because I barely had money, and it was the most affordable place to buy clothing or items, such as jewelry or blankets. After hearing a story on TikTok about what has been done there, I was disturbed by the outcome. The many positive reviews cover up the negative aspects of this entire establishment.

From personal experience, the clothing smelled weird, like a fishy or metallic scent. The cheap material causes the clothing to come apart or stain easily from light substances such as ketchup. Most of the time, what you see is not what you get, because I remember I bought a shirt for Field Week on short notice, and they gave me the wrong color, and I couldn’t return it. To add on to that, the return policy seems to be a scam because Forever 21, the place you return it to, is going out of business, so that makes this app 10x worse.

SHEIN clothing is trash, and I still can’t comprehend why I shopped there. This app should be banned or at least suspended and put under investigation. I understand that there are opposing viewpoints on the matter and how it’s not as bad as other companies, but that still doesn’t mean it’s acceptable.

Overall, SHEIN clothing is not even that good. This suspicious app should get a 0 in stars.
