It all started when my name got drawn in a Marian raffle during Walk-A-Thon. When I went to the office to pick up my gift, I received a gift card to Greek Islands. My first thought was, “What is this place?” I had never heard of the restaurant before, so I was a little excited to try something new.
About a week later, on a rainy night, my parents and I decided to go eat there and try it out. Upon walking in, we were greeted with brightly colored walls, with realistic scenes of Greece painted all over them, and boisterous laughter from the customers who had already been seated. Once seated, we took a look at the menu and decided to order street gyros, which were $12.75, and Spanadip, which was $12.
The Spanadip came first and we started eating that with pita bread while we waited for the street gyros. The dip was creamy and the pita bread was toasty. The menu describes it as Spinach, Artichoke, Feta, and Cream Cheese baked to a golden brown and served with fresh pita. Although it was a while that we waited for the street gyros, they were worth the wait. My dad ordered the octopus, which was $16.95 and said it was good, but not the best he’s ever had.
In conclusion, the Greek Islands restaurant was a good restaurant to eat at with my family. The food was good, the prices were reasonable, but the service was a little slow. However, the overall experience was good and I would recommend it for others to try.
