How long would you wait for coffee? One hour? Two hours? Three hours? Some people waited up to four hours in line for 7 Brew Coffee. But is the hype valid?
After racking up 4,600 7 Brew points (100 per drink), I argue that it is. 7 Brew is a cafe chain that has recently opened a location in Omaha at 18236 Evans St. in Elkhorn. They are open 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and close at 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. They serve coffee, energy drinks and more. From their coffee to their milkshakes, 7 Brew does a great job of recreating everyday flavors. For example, their Brewchata Chai does in fact taste like horchata.
After going on Feb. 7, their Jackpot Day, I can reconfirm this notion. I ordered two different drinks: the Blackberry Cobbler Smoothie and Sweet and Salty Breve.

The Blackberry Cobbler Smoothie had a very smooth consistency. The flavors in it are wildberry, blackberry, white chocolate and cupcake. The combination of the cake and berry add up to perfectly mimic a cobbler.
The Sweet and Salty Breve is a staple in their menu as part of their Signature Seven. This drink is the perfect balance of sweet and coffee, with the flavors being salted caramel and white chocolate. The consistency of 7 Brew’s espresso shots combined with milk create a silky, satisfying texture I haven’t found in any other cafés in Omaha. The flavor along with the drink’s consistency make 7 Brew my go-to coffee shop.
Their sizes are reasonable, with their small being 16 oz, medium 24 oz and large being 32 oz, in comparison to Starbucks’ tall size being 12 oz, grande being 16 oz and venti being 24 oz. Though the prices vary based on drink customizations, they are still cheaper per ounce than at Starbucks.
The Elkhorn location’s main issue is their long lines and loss of quality when busy. On a particular visit, I had ordered a crème brûlée latte and tasted no sweetness or flavor whatsoever. However, customer service was very kind and helpful concerning the situation. Other than that, every single visit has been absolutely wonderful and made me want to come back.
Whenever you get the chance, go and try 7 Brew! It’s really great and the coffee is the best you’ll get in Omaha.
