Once a month, students are given the opportunity to have a “Marian Moms” lunch: a burrito bowl which is prepared by parent and family volunteers for students and staff. With their famous desserts, Marian Moms Crew provides these lunches that are a highlight for many students. On the other hand, Marian Moms lunch is also famous for the longer wait time it has.

Marian Moms lunch is a highlight for sophomore Makayla Martinez. “It’s very delicious,” Martinez said. “I love it so much.”
For many, the burrito bowls are their favorite lunch.
“The desserts are really good too,” Martinez said.
The lunches are a treat for Marian students, but that’s not all that the Marian Moms Crew does.
“Marian Moms is involved in the majority of volunteer events at Marian,” Chris Else, one of the 2025-26 Co-Presidents of Marian Moms, said. Else is a mom of freshman Emily, junior Abby, recent grad Natalie and 2021 alum Maggie.
Some of these events include Grandparents’ Day, Open House and Senior Honors Day, where members of the crew help with planning, and donate time and items for events.
Marian Moms has taken on more responsibilities over the years, adjusting to the needs of the school. “We revise events based on what we see works and does not work well,” said Katie Zander, another Marian Moms Co-President. Zander’s daughter is sophomore Emma.
Over the years, Marian Moms has taken on additional responsibilities, working at more events than ever. Marian Moms also make volunteer sign-ups and activities more efficient.

“We try to work together as a whole unit,” Zander said.
Marian Moms not only benefits the students, but the faculty and staff, too.
”We really try to support the staff and faculty,” Else said. “We want them to feel appreciated for all that they do.”
Marian Moms Crew brings in snacks for staff members, including pies for Thanksgiving and year-end lunches.
“Sampling the pies is super fun,” theology teacher Mr. Kory Delkamiller said. He finds the Thanksgiving lunch to be a joyful and fun experience.
“They’re just such a good support,” Delkamiller said. “They put in a lot of time, I really appreciate that.”
Many volunteers find their participation in the Marian Moms Crew to be rewarding. “It is one of the greatest ways to give back,” Else said.
Marian Moms serves the entire Marian community, being a highlight for many.
