The varsity softball team brought home Marian’s first ever softball State Championship on Friday, exciting the student body and filling an empty slot on the State Championship banner.  Junior Brook Linderman sealed the win with a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning (scroll below to watch the video coverage of it).  “My freshman year, it was our goal to win state by the end of our high school softball careers.  It’s crazy to think how far we have come in such a short amount of time and fulfilled that dream of ours,” senior right-fielder Aly Freeman said.    This victory is Marian’s 60th State Championship in the school’s 60 year history, marking a monumental achievement.
