Portrait: Junior Rowan Hamm enjoying a brief moment of February sun.

Environment: Platte State Park in early March, coming out of its winter hibernation. The stream is coming alive again, and it smells like spring.

Action Shot: A black belt Jiu Jitsu testing is never without its highlights at Kanshin Dojo. Testers Will Cameron and Caleb Zellner demonstrate a hip throw onto the mat, while instructors observe.

Feature: Junior Mary McKay stars intently at her camera screen while organizing the settings for her next shot. Journalism I has introduced her to her love of cameras and film, and she works these skills daily in class.

Light and shadow: A candle

Advertising: Caroline McDonald ‘25 has an affinity for Culver’s sauce, and who wouldn’t? She models her Culver’s manifestations during second lunch.

Pet Portrait: She’s a queen, staring down others in her comfy throne. The regal Alice is quite enjoying her position as the matriarch of the McGuire family pets.

Academic Moment: Greta Justice ‘25 is a worker bee on her Art III self portrait. One of the first people in Mrs. Ashley Bauer’s art room every morning, her hard work and dedication are yielding her impressive results.

Marian Spirit: Community is one of the most important Marian core values. The Marian wrestling team is a great example of how a great community can help the individual members to grow.

Emotional Response: Winter formal night fiasco! Olivia Camerer ‘25 breaks her heel right in the middle of the dance floor, and laughs it off. Now the heel lives on as an ode to good times within Marian dances.

Ethics statement: In my work, I strive to honestly portray human moments. My photos are inspired by the lives and experiences of the people around me, as well as the beauty of our world. Everything I present as my own is genuinely and authentically my personal work.
