Through the increasing amounts of cultures coming to America a very new flavor comes to Omaha. The formerly named Tea Time, now Kawaii Tea Time, has come to West Omaha. Having a menu of food items that are not common in Omaha that include sushi tacos, boba and box cakes. These foods are delicious and definitely different from what you might see in the general Omaha area.

Just a couple of sushi tacos. Flavors include crab, spicy tuna, and cheesy flavors.

Concerning the food I would rate it a 10/10. I give it such a high rating because they keep costs down while also having good quality ingredients and good presentation of the food. I specifically tried their crab egg sushi taco which consists of Japanese mayo, imitation crab, hard boiled egg slices, purple rice, rice paper and seaweed. The crunchy texture encasing the chewy rice and refreshing filling is the perfect combination. I have also tasted their mango tuna sushi taco which bears a striking resemblance to poke bowls. This taco gives the experience of a good sushi roll without the expensive costs. Both of these items are delicious.

Another must try item are their cakes. Having tried the strawberry cake and the pomelo mango cake, I confirm they serve unique options. Both cakes are well crafted and delicious. They have popping boba of their coordinating flavor and sago pearls to add a different texture. These special toppings are a great combination with their fluffy cake and delicious buttercream: 10/10.

Along with the food they also have boba. The boba they serve is standard although they do have a variety of flavors. They serve peach tea all the way to avocado smoothie. Although I have not tried their more unique drinks, I do appreciate their vast diversity in flavors: 8/10.

A boba bowl consisting of jellies, tapioca boba, mangoes, and a coconut cream shaved ice.

There are also many other unique dishes such as a boba bowl or a savory snack pouch. These are snacks that may not be what most would try, but are very delicious.

The overall service is simple and easy for introverts and those who don’t want to talk too much. By using machines to order when walking in it allows people to buy more and avoid mistakes that may occur when talking. Regardless of efficient order taking, they often struggle with giving people the right orders. They tend to have a tendency to mess up small details like spicy versus normal mayo. This may be due to them being very short staffed due to it being a family business. Because of this I would give service a 7/10.

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants in Omaha and I love going there. I would recommend this if you’re trying to support small businesses in Omaha. This would be a great one.

Reviewer Comment/Disclaimer:

I have been going to this restaurant for a very long time and have been there since the beginning of opening the restaurant. I have had good experiences in person and have had bad experiences on DoorDash. I have no personal relationship with the owners.
