Behind the scenes of the cafeteria are a lot of hard working employees who wake up early, put in the work, and provide for their family. One of these hard working employees is Ms. Stacey Dvorak.

“I start my day waking up at 5 every morning, bright and early so I can get my two young kids up and ready for the day,” Dvorak said. She gets them dressed and feeds them before she takes them to school. Once she drops her kids off, she heads to Marian, where she works with Mr. Bob Hurtado in the kitchen and starts work right away.

During the day, Dvorak said, “I make delicious desserts like brownies and cookies that are homemade.” While everyone is in class, Dvorak begins to prepare or stock up sandwiches, wraps, salads and drinks for people that may not want the hot lunch. She also helps Hurtado in the kitchen before first and second lunch periods start.

After working hard throughout the day, Dvorak leaves Marian at 2 to go get her kids from school. Once they gets home, she makes dinner, helps her kids with their homework, and gets them ready for bed. After she is done putting her kids to bed, she winds down herself and heads to bed around 9:30.

Dvorak is on the go every day so that she can provide for her kids like a hard working single mom does. She said that she really works three jobs, including working for Hurtados in their catering and food truck businesses to help provide for her children and their education. She puts in the hard work and dedication to make her kids proud. Dvorak’s job is important at Marian and she is a good employee who makes sure everyone is taken care of. Dvorak puts in the dedication and effort at her job which shows through how smoothly the cafeteria runs.
